| This week: 2 tests, made two movies, making a costume for class night, writing articles for the paper, needing sleep, watching old episodes of the ninja turtles, have not sang as much as possible, needing to read, one sunburn, trip to the lake, skating to everything on the board. Crazy week, tired, alot of its my fault, I feel like I am getting closer to something much better than i have ever experienced, its rough right now but there are always nights before sunrises and valleys before mountains. | | |
| "You will come again with a shout, like a thief in the night you will come riding on clouds: and finally the voice that I have followed for life will have a glorious face that is lit up with lights, when you come for me." Consistent Eschatology refers to an emphasis on the coming Kingdom of Christ, he brought the Kingdom with him when he walked the earth and the Kingdom is still coming, It is here and yet to come. It lives in us as we live our lives as children of the Kingdom. He lives through us in the ministry of reconciliation, bringing people to Christ by living lives full of kindness. I have been consumed with the thought that he is here right now, and is in the next moment, and forever I will be with Him. His is a perfect love that satisfies the broken, mended, messed up, confused, torn, full, hungry, "those who have lost all the words to all their songs", those full of laughter, those who morn, those who cant stop singing, a heavy heart, and a worried mind. He really does love us! His kingdom is here. I long to see his face, for now we must let all the beauty we can saturate our hearts, its his beauty, and once we get a real glimpse I believe we cant resist persuing. | | |
| The Nutcracker was awesome, those people were graceful. I have a bunch of days jumbled in my head. So wednesday we went ot an orphanage and had a blast playing with the kids they were actually pretty old they were like 16 year olds, we I played basketball with four Ukrainian kids they were fun. We shovelled the snow there for the orphanage. Thusday we went to a juvenile facility known as a colony, I got to share a testimony with them and tell them about life and peace. It was pretty quiet. We played a couple of games later. Then we went and hadd church with the people thast norally minister to the kids at the juvnille facility, we had church, played games and drank tea. Our group went to Kyeve Christian Acedemy today, it was fun Michelle spoke at the assembly because she went to school here a few years ago(her parents are the missionaries we are staying with Kevin and Eunice Tyler) they are pretty awesome. We ot to tour the CBN studio today also. We went ot some local stores and markets after that, crazy Ukrainian stuff!! We are about to get on a train and go to south Ukraine (Nikolaieve its near the Black Sea) to work with a medical trailer. Its an overnight train ride but it should be fun. Sometime during this week I built a six foot snowman, rode the metro, went to a store called metro(like sams club), put my bare feet in snow, made a snowcone and ate it, had a missionary kid on my head(Sydney Dollar), saw a real monkey, felt snowflakes fall o my face, ate borshe, used russian, made biscuits and gravy and an egg casarole, threw at least thirty snlowballs at Cassie, made pancakes actually crepes, shovelled snow, smelled socks, played with alot of kids, break danced, ate weird smoked prune cake, drank a ton of hot tea(to which I am now addicted, I like it iced or hot), listened to Ukrainian techno music for over two hours (they really like it here!), changed socks, ate at fridays, went to the tranoble museum, saw a stork nest, and used walky talkies for over six hours. | | |
| Well the childrens service went well on sunday, Heidi and I did a puppet show, The kids thought it was pretty fun after that we went to a Ukrainian resturaunt outside of Kyev in Boyarka<---Thats my english translation. Yesterday we went to the Tranoble museum and to the market, later we went to a teen challenge center there we sang and gave testimonies. I got to pray for Ukraine and give prayer requests for America, a Ukrainian man then prayed for America. Today we went to the Child Rescue center and played games with children rescued from the street. They were so much fun, The ministry there consists of education, reunion or placement with families, rehab from drug use (alot of children get high from glue to numb the pain of hunger). We visited a basement where many kids stay together and form a "street family". we are about to eat dinner and after that we are going to the Russian Ballet, "Nutcracker". God is doing great things here in Ukraine he is using the hands and hearts of missionaries and nationals to reach out a helping hand to the hurting and helpless. Pray for the 25,00 street children of Ukraine and people that are here that are trying to help. | | |
